Neymar eyes Firmino link-up... at Real Madrid

Bizarre reports in Spain are suggesting that Neymar has told Real Madrid to sign Roberto Firmino.

The Paris Saint-Germain forward has been linked with the Spanish giants ever since leaving arch-rivals Barcelona.

And Don Balon, cited by Fox Sports Asia, claim he wants to link up with the Liverpool forward at the Bernabeu and has told President Florentino Perez to sign his compatriot as a result.

The duo are said to be close friends off the pitch and Neymar is aware that Real are looking for a replacement for Karim Benzema.

Luka Jovic looks set to join the Spaniards this month, but Neymar wants to see Firmino signed as well should he make the move to Madrid himself.

Barcelona had looked to be the clear-favourites to sign the Ajax captain but reports in Spain claim the deal has hit a snag over the Catalans refusal to agree to Mino Raiola’s agent fees.

According to Spanish daily Mundo Deportivo, cited by Inside Futbol, Barcelona are hoping De Ligt overrules the so-called Super Agent to force through a move to Camp Nou.

But with Barcelona unwilling to pay his fees, Raiola could offer his client to other interested sides such as Liverpool, Manchester United and Paris Saint-Germain.

Liverpool name Mignolet price

The Belgian has found himself demoted to the Reds’ reserve goalkeeper in the past 18 months and looks likely to leave Anfield in search of first team football this summer.

If the Reds are successful in commanding such a fee for the 31-year-old, it would represent a healthy £6million profit on a player limited to just three cup appearances since January 2018 following his £9million move from Sunderland in 2013.

Never mind, then.

Leverkusen hopeful of keeping Brandt

Bayer Leverkusen are hopeful of keeping hold of rumoured Liverpool target Julian Brandt after qualifying for next season’s Champions League.

The Germany international was on the scoresheet in Leverkusen’s final day 5-1 victory over Hertha Berlin to book their place in the competition next year.

Brandt would have been able to leave the club for £21.5million had they missed out on qualifying, but that release clause is no longer valid.

And Leverkusen sporting director Rudi Voller has told Sky Deutschland he’s hopeful the playmaker will stay put.

We have not given up hope because he knows what he has here with us.

The coach has reinvented his position a bit and he also knows that he has great players here.

And of course he can now play in the Champions League.

Liverpool 'in talks' with De Ligt

Barcelona are favourites to sign the 19-year-old, but the Spaniard confirmed they aren’t the only team in the running when speaking on BBC Radio 5Live.’s daily podcast

“They (Barcelona) think they have De Ligt, even though both Liverpool and PSG have also been talking to him.”

Kompany leaving Man City

Some huge Premier League transfer news this morning as Manchester City captain Vincent Kompany has confirmed he’s leaving the club.

What a servant. At least he can’t score the goal that wins them the league next year.

Can’t see him staying in the Premier League but wouldn’t say no to Liverpool making a move for him.
