Narsala residents set to get tap water

Nagpur: Narsala and Hudkeshwar residents are set to get treated water in their taps as the Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC) water works department (WWD) has completed inter-connection of pipeline works in the two areas.
A senior WWD official said the NMC has identified four lanes in Narsala where pipelines network is ready. “We have also started distributing connection forms and three residents have already paid the requisite fees,” the official said. The work of new connections will also be started, he said.

Currently, the NMC is providing water to these areas through 74 tankers with each tanker making around 8 to 10 trips daily. With this development, WWD will gradually reduce the number of water tankers. Also, the construction of elevated storage reservoir at Hudkeshwar by Pench Project Cell is on the verge of completion and it will be commissioned soon.
Meanwhile, the WWD seized six booster pumps during surprise checking at residential localities in Laxmi Nagar zone on Saturday morning, said the senior official.
