HUBBALLI: JD(S) leader and
MLC Basavaraj Horatti on Saturday has stirred a hornet’s nest by saying that to put an end to all speculations on the longevity of the government, the Assembly should be dissolved and face an election.
Speaking to a news agency in
Bagalkot, Horatti said “In the past, on the three occasions
JDS h had formed a coalition government and because of the confusion the governments had collapsed that is history. It is good to continue the government by adjusting ourselves, otherwise, it is better to dissolve the Assembly and seek a fresh mandate again and it is the better option."
“ The coalition government was formed to keep communal forces away but instead of following coalition Dharma, the Congress leaders creating confusion by giving statements that Siddaramaiah should become CM again, they should reply, how it is possible. CM H D Kumaraswamy has been giving a good government. But because of the statement of the Congress and BJP leaders, a suffocating environment has created. Instead of working in such an environment, it is better to dissolve the Assembly and majority government should rule the state,” he said.
He added that JD(S) leaders have always followed the coalition Dharma, they did not make any nonsense statement so far. If the MLAs have a problem they should meet the CM and get solved their problems. Because of the unnecessary statement, people were getting confused and there should not be confusion to run the government, he said.
“My statement is personal and nothing to do with the party. Whatever the statement I am making is filled with good intention. HD Kumaraswamy should get a free atmosphere to work. Because of statements of BJP and Congress leaders people have developed a negative opinion about the government,” he said.
Requesting both Congress leaders and JDS leaders not to make different statements, controversial statements, CM Kumaraswamy tweeted “ We are on the verge formation of a new government at the centre. Our intention is to form a non-BJP government in the centre and the attempts of forming such a government is in process and at this juncture alliance leaders, different statements may mar the attempt. The leaders of the both party should respond to our good intention and I request them to not to make any controversial statements,” he said.
