PM Modi greets nation on Buddha Purnima
Prime Minister Narendra Modi greeted the nation on the occasion of Buddha Purnima on Saturday. Taking to Twitter, the prime minister conveyed his message and wishes to the nation.
The prime minister posted a throwback video clip, which showed the significance of Buddha and his teachings.
While wishing everyone in his tweet, PM said that Lord Buddha's preachings on truth, non-violence, mercy, compassion, and peace, will keep inspiring countrymen.

Ahead of the last phase of Lok Sabha polling on May 19, PM Modi today has reached the Kedarnath temple in Uttarakhand to offer prayers to Lord Shiva.
President Ram Nath Kovind tweeted, "Greetings and good wishes to fellow citizens and to the global Buddhist community on #BuddhaPurnima. Lord Buddha's message of peace, non-violence, and compassion hold even greater significance today. May his teachings guide us towards universal fraternity #PresidentKovind."

The whole nation is observing Buddha Purnima on Saturday to mark the birth of Gautam Buddha, the founder of Buddhism. Many devotees are offering prayers and taking a holy dip in Ganga in Prayagraj.
On the other hand, people also offered prayers at the Sarnath temple near Varanasi on this holy occasion.
