Noted Odissi dancer Devjani Sen performed at the Bharat Bhavan on the first day of the two-day Indian Classical Fest organised jointly by the Bharat Bhavan - the official cultural exchange centre of the State government, and the International Performing Arts Festival (IPAF).

Sen is a student of the late Kelucharan Mohapatra. The first day also featured a Koodiyattam performance by Margi Sajeev Narayana Chakiar, who has performed extensively in India and abroad.

The two-day festival features both dance recitals and a vocal fest. Saturday will feature a Mohiniyattam recital by Uma Tapasyananda, a Bharatanatyam performance by Adhiti Ashoka and a Carnatic vocal performance by Keerthana Ramesh. The programme will begin at 6.30 p.m.

Poet V. Madhusoodanan Nair inaugurated the two-day event on Friday.

Vattaparambil Peethambaran presided over the function. Bharat Bhavan member secretary Pramod Payyannur was also present.
