NEW DELHI: After a wet
Friday evening, IMD has predicted more rains for
Delhi on Saturday. The weather agency said that wind speed ranging from 40-50 km/hr is expected in the next 24 hours.
"Light rain is expected on Saturday after which maximum temperatures will begin to rise. Strong surface winds are likely from Sunday, which will keep the maximum temperature around 39 degrees Celsius,” a senior Met official said on Friday.
SAFAR, a forecasting body under Union environment ministry, said the temperature was likely to remain in the ‘moderate’ range in the next three days due to the spell of rain. “The overall air quality of Delhi may deteriorate slightly,” it said.
The mercury plunged in the evening on Friday as strong showers lashed parts of city. Delhi’s maximum temperature was recorded at 37.4 degrees Celsius - three notches below normal for this time of the season - with overcast skies seen in most parts of the capital through the day.
