Buddhist community members offered prayers in front of the 25 feet golden statue of Lord Buddha on the occasion of 'Buddha Purnima', in Bhopal on Friday evening. Priests of all religion lit candles and lead the rally to celebrate 2563rd birth anniversary of Lord Buddha. Mufti Salman, Pandit Narendra Dixit, Father Anand Matungal, Bhante Shakya Sagar Putra among others were present on this occasion. Lord Buddha’s message of peace, non-violence and compassion hold greater significance today. Buddha Purnima celebrated across the country with fervour, marks the birth anniversary of the founder of Buddhism.
