KALYAN: Two gun-wielding men robbed a
woman and her son of valuables worth Rs 30,000 from their flat in Ambivli on Thursday night. The robbers, who had masks on, entered the groundfloor flat of Om Sai building in Shivaji Nagar locality.
Nayankala Thapa (56), a homemaker, was initially alone in the flat when the two suspects showed up with a gun and tied her hands and legs, said the police. Thapa’s younger son, Dhanraj (29) reached the flat soon after. Dhanraj said the men tied him up too. They also snatched their cellphones and removed the SIM cards before both fled from the place.
A
robbery case has been registered at Khadakpada police station. Police said the robbers could have used a dummy gun.
