Minor raped by boyfriend, 2 others

HYDERABAD: A 16-year-old girl who befriended an unidentified man over phone, was allegedly gangraped by the man and his two friends in Jagdevpur village on Wednesday night. On Friday, Siddipet district police registered a case.
Jagadevpur police said that the victim had discontinued her studies a few months ago. “Although the victim initially used to cut his calls saying it’s a wrong number, the accused continued to call her and somehow befriended her over time. He gradually started having conversations with the victim and they became friends. Their relationship later turned into love,” police said.
On Wednesday night, the victim had gone out to meet him, where he and his two friends allegedly gangraped her. The victim later approached Jagdevpur police, who registered a case under Section 376 (rape) of the IPC and Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act. The victim was sent for medical examination by the police.
“The accused belong to Siddipet district and we have launched a manhunt to nab the accused,” the police said.
