Woman arrested for killing hubby, toddler son at Tajpura village

VELLORE: The Arcot taluk police in Vellore on Friday arrested a 20-year-old woman on charges of murdering her husband and one-year-old child at Tajpura village near Arcot. She murdered them as she could not tolerate her husband's constant suspicions about her fidelity, police said.
The woman, who confessed to murdering her husband by crushing his head with a stone, also murdered her son believing that when he grows up, he may feel guilty when he learns that his father was a drunkard and her mother a murderer, a senior police officer said.
S Raja, 25, an electrician from Tajpura, and his neighbour Deepika, 20, got married two years ago after they fell in love with each other. The couple had a son Pranish.
On Thursday evening, Deepika went to Arcot taluk police station and lodged a complaint requesting police to find her husband and son, who she claimed were missing since May 13. Police officers who grew suspicious of Deepika after she gave contradictory answers to questions, detained and inquired her further.
During the investigation, Deepika confessed that she murdered her husband after he started abusing her suspecting her fidelity.
