GREATER NOIDA: Two of the six students of Galgotias University who sustained serious injuries in Thursday's road
accident on the
Yamuna Expressway near Dankaur died at a private hospital in
Greater Noida on Friday.
A total of 10 students were injured on Thursday when a Maruti Eeco that was ferrying them to the university overturned multiple times after hitting a divider on the Yamuna Expressway near Dankaur. They were rushed to nearby Kailash Hospital, where doctors had to amputate the legs of one of them to save his life.
The two students who died during treatment at the hospital have been identified as Amisha Dutta (23), originally from Jharkhand, and Aryan Sisodia, a resident of Delhi. While Amisha had been pursuing a medical technician's course, Aryan was a second-year BTech student at the university.
Hospital authorities said of the six seriously injured, Amisha and Aryan were in a critical condition since the time they were admitted to the intensive care unit. "While Amisha had pelvic injury and was in shock, Aryan could not survive despite doctors amputating his two legs as a desparate measure to save his life. They succumbed to their injuries on Friday morning," said a spokesperson for Kailash Hospital.
According to hospital, the condition of others are stable.
