Ahmedabad: Four held for beating their friend to death

A 35-year-old man was beaten to death by his four friends after he refused to change his working place. The deceased has been identified as Kalu Dhobi, a resident of Thakorvas near Shivrajani crossroad area, and worked as a washerman. The incident took place late on Thursday night near Isanpur bridge.

According to the police, on Thursday, at around 12:30pm, Kalu's friends, Puran Dhobi, Himat Dhobi, Ajay Zala and Dhiru Pande reached his house and forcefully took him away on their bikes.

Kalu was beaten up after he refused to change his workplace and shift with them. The four accused dumped his body in the bushes near Isanpur bridge.

Inspector MB Zala of Satellite police station said, "The accused did not realise that Kalu would die. They even left a bottle of water near him when they dumped him. We have arrested all four accused."
