HISAR: Police have registered a case against a man for repeatedly raping a woman for over one-and-a-half years. A couple was also booked for allegedly supporting the accused in the crime. The police have started the investigation but no arrest has been made so far.
Hisar police spokesperson said that a case against a man Kismat, another man Mahendra and his wife Anita Devi has been registered on the complaint of rape survivor under section 376(2)(n) (continuous rape), 452 (house trespass), 506 (criminal intimidation), 120-B (criminal conspiracy) of
Indian Penal Code.
The victim, a housewife, whose husband works in a factory, has two sons. In the complaint given to the police, she said Mahendra, who lived in her neighbourhood, first came to her house in October, 2017, in the absence of her husband along with a man Kismat and asked her to find a suitable girl for Kismat who wished to get married.
After that, Kismat made a few visits to her house and on November 29, 2017, when her husband had gone to duty and no one else was at home, Kismat raped her. While leaving, he threatened to kill her if she would make a complaint about the incident.
A few days later, Mahendra’s wife Anita came to the victim’s house and sat there for a while. The victim was alone at the time when Anita left. After sometime, Kismat came and he again raped her.
After this incident, Kismat began to live with Mahendra and Anita. He again raped her after ten or twelve days and this time Mahendra and Anita also accompanied him.
The rape survivor told police that Anita and Mahendra used to blackmail her. A panchayat was also organised in the village where she pleaded her case but to no avail. After this she complained to the police.
