BJP youth wing member alleges being defamed

Vadodara: A video of an alleged BJP youth wing worker sitting with friends and a woman along with tins of beer has sparked a major controversy in the city. The leader has shot back alleging that loan sharks were behind defaming him as he had taken them on.
The 57 second video that is being circulated shows the youth chatting with friends and the woman. The conversation also hints at the fact that the woman is a commercial sex worker and one of the youths is married.
Sources in the BJP said that the youth was active with the party and even held a post in the youth wing at the ward level. When contacted, the youth alleged that the person in the video was not him. “Even if we believe that it is me, I am neither seen drinking nor am I in a compromising situation. I am going to file a complaint regarding the video in the cybercrime cell,” he said.
The youth claimed that loan sharks who had taken Rs nine to 10 lakh from him against a Rs six lakh loan he took, were behind the incident. “I had approached the city police earlier and recently during the ‘lok darbar’ organised by the city police in the Warasiya police station regarding these money lenders,” he said.
