ALLAHABAD: In an effort to strengthen passenger amenities along with safety & security, Allahabad division of North Central Railways (NCR) have installed a strong network of 143
CCTV cameras at
Allahabad Junction.
To ensure effective monitoring of these CCTV cameras a new CCTV control center has been made functional in which the activity of 25 CCTV cameras is displayed simultaneously in one
monitor.
“To ensure effective monitoring of these CCTV cameras GM NCR, Rajiv Chaudhry inaugurated the new CCTV control center which has 12 display monitors of 65 inch each”, said NCR, CPRO, Ajeet Kumar Singh.
At the center, a group of Two display monitor has been created in which the activity of 25 CCTV cameras would be displayed simultaneously on one monitor. The activities would be displayed for 10 seconds on the entire screen. Total Six groups have been created for monitoring of CCTV cameras.
“The first group comprises of 25 cameras installed in the four passenger’s shelters and the PRS area while the second group comprises 25 cameras installed on the City side of the circulating area and platform No. 01”, informed the official.
Likewise, the third group comprises 25 cameras installed on platform No. 2/3 and 4/5 and the Fourth group comprises 25 lines on
Civil Lines side circulating area along with platform No. 06 and foot over bridge No. 05 and so on, he added.
Each CCTV camera has a storage capacity of 30 days and any incident of 30-day period can be seen and examined.
Through the CCTV control center, every activity of the station will be monitored by the RPF personnel 24X7.
Along with this, a newly built office with cubical cabin in place of the old cash office has also made functional at Allahabad Junction. In this, 20 cabins have been constructed in approximately 565 sq m area, in which each cabin has other functional facilities including chair and table.
NCR has also provided a ‘E-Book (tablet) and running room self-booking system in the crew booking lobby located at platform no. 1. So far, loco pilots have to keep several books related to operation of trains in his tool box such as general and sub-rule, troubleshooting directory, accident manual etc.In the first phase, tablets are being provided to 200 senior pilots of the division and tablets will be provided to remaining 1000 mail and express loco pilots soon, said the CPRO.
