A 27-year-old man was allegedly gored to death by a stray cow after his bike hit the bovine in west Delhi’s Inderpuri area on Thursday evening.

According to the police, the incident took place at Dev Prakash Shastri Marg when the victim, Ravi Takral, was riding his motorcycle.

A police officer said, Takral was going from his home to Todapur when the stray cattle came in his way. Before he could apply brakes, the motorcycle hit the cow. “Locals told police that agitated by the collision, the bovine attacked the victim with its horns and ripped through his stomach. He was rushed to a nearby hospital where he was declared brought dead,” the officer said.

Deputy commissioner of police (west) Monika Bhardwaj said, a case of causing death due to negligence has been registered. “We are probing if the stray animal belonged to anyone. CCTV is also being checked to establish the sequence of incidents,” Bhardwaj said.
