NEW DELHI: Rain lashed parts of the national capital and the adjoining areas on Friday evening bringing relief from sultry heat.
The day's minimum temperature was recorded at 24.6 degrees Celsius, two notches below the season's average while the humidity was recorded at 74 per cent.

The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) had predicted thunderstorm with rain and gusty winds over Delhi and its adjoining areas of, Hisar, Rohtak, Jhajjar, Panipat, Kosli, Sonipat, Bagpat, Gurugram, Rewari, Bawal, Manesar Ghaziabad, Noida, Hodal, Mahendragarh.
The weather is likely to remain pleasant on Saturday and the maximum and minimum temperatures are expected to hover around 36 degrees and 24 degrees Celsius respectively.

On Thursday, the maximum temperature was recorded at 36.7 degrees Celsius while the minimum temperature settled at 23.4 degrees Celsius.

The weather department has warned of hail precipitation over and nearby areas of Meerut, Modinagar, Loni, Khair and isolated places of Delhi.
Rainfall has also been predicted for many places in Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Punjab and Haryana.
