The Red Hills police on Thursday arrested Jura Katun, 28, for allegedly killing her husband’s second wife.
The police identified the deceased as Jurana Begam, 25, wife of Mohammed Rasheed. She lived with her husband, his first wife Jura Katun and two children. Ever since Rasheed married a second time, Jura who was upset, physically and mentally tortured Jurana, the police said.
The police said, Jura stabbed Jurana with a knife on May 12 and the injured woman was admitted to the Government Stanley Hospital and she succumbed on Wednesday.
The accused was remanded in judicial custody.
