Congress president
Rahul Gandhi today lashed out at the
Election Commission "for favouring"
BJP and Narendra Modi. He said that the polls were scheduled in a way favouring BJP and to facilitate campaigns of PM Narendra Modi.
"Modi Ji can say whatever he wants to say while we're stopped from saying the same thing.Seems that the elections schedule was made for Modi Ji's campaigning," Rahul Gandhi said in a press conference.
Gandhi also said that BJP has too much money power. "Narendra Modi and BJP have lots of money...it could 1:20 ratio...They have unlimited money but we have truth on our side," he said.
Rahul Gandhi however added that the Congress managed to effectively play the role of opposition party. "We have dismantled the idea of Narendra Modi that was there in 2014," he claimed.
"We did our job, now it is upto the people of India," he added.
Rahul Gandhi also said that if Congress forms the government, it will use the experience of senior leaders like Manmohan Singh and Sonia Gandhi.
On BJP's claim of getting 300 seats, Rahul Gandhi said that the picture will be clear after May 23.
Lashing out at PM Modi, Rahul said he forgot why people elected him.
On opposition alliance, he said that the party will decide on the basis of results.
He also mocked the prime minister for holding his first press conference just days before polling ends.
BJP chief Amit Shah and Modi held a press conference at the party headquarters at the same time when
Gandhi addressed the media at the Congress head office.
"Why did the prime minister not accept my challenge for a debate on the Rafale issue," asked
Gandhi.
Answering a question, he asserted that the philosophy of Shah and Modi cannot be the philosophy of Mahatma
Gandhi.
