HIT AND RUN

The victim of last week’s hit-and-run incident in Westport died early Thursday morning at Rhode Island Hospital as a result of her injuries. Stephanie Tripp, of Fall River, was injured when a man believed to be driving a BMW 3 Series hit her while she walked along the side of Old Bedford Road in the area of her boyfriend’s house after sunset on May 7.

CONTRACT SIGNED

After several tumultuous months for leadership at Diman Regional Vocational-Technical High School, a contract was reached Tuesday with interim superintendent Elvio Ferreira that makes him chief executive officer of the district for the next six years.

SPRING CLEANING

It’s time for a good old-fashioned spring cleaning in Fall River. A large-scale cleanup by more than 200 volunteers is planned for Saturday in neighborhoods across the city.  To join up, contact the Fall River Community Development Agency.

GARAGE REPAIRS

The state could fund repairs to the Third Street parking garage, which was partially shut down in 2017 due to structural damage. The parking garage, which the city owns, has 147 available spaces and, with the repairs, an additional 75 spots would be available.

ON THE LIST

And authorities are asking for the public’s help locating a Fall River man who skipped his court date after he allegedly choked, punched and robbed a man over the age of 60 in broad daylight last summer. Ruben Bulhoes, of Fall River, was added Thursday to the list of most wanted fugitives in Bristol County. Those with information about the case or Bulhoes’ whereabouts are urged to contact the DA’s office.
