BJP will come back with a bigger margin: Modi

Addressing a press conference for the first time, prime minister Narendra Modi exuded confidence that the BJP will return to power with a bigger mandate. He also emphasised on India's rich democratic traditions.

Reiterating Shah, PM Modi said that the BJP will return with a greater mandate to serve a second term. "It will happen after a long time in the country, our government will come to power with an absolute majority for the second consecutive time."

Campaigning this time has been the most extensive and elaborate for the Bharatiya Janata Party. We are very happy with the way this election has spanned out over the past few weeks, said Shah.

Clarifying BJP's stand on Praygya Thakur and her statement on Nathuram Godse, Shah said that the party has issued a show-cause notice to her.

Speaking on BJP's welfare schemes, he said, BJP effort's towards social welfare has borne fruit and reduced disparities to a large extent. BJP has connected various parts of the country through schemes, reiterated Shah.

We started our election campaign from January 16. Our target was to win 120 Lok Sabha seats which we couldn't win the last time. We are confident that we'll receive good results, stated Shah.

2014 was a landmark verdict in India's political landscape, said Amit Shah.
