Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) candidate and Kota MP (member of parliament) Om Birla has described the state health department decision to issue Awaiting Posting Order (APO) to his doctor wife who is currently on deputation at the Rajasthan house, New Delhi, as vendetta politics by the state Congress government.

Rajasthan’s health department issued the Awaiting Posting Order on May 13 against Dr Amita Birla after Bharat Singh, Congress MLA from Sangod, Kota and a former MP complained to the Election Commission alleging that Birla violated the Election Commission’s Model Code of Conduct by campaigning for her politician husband. As per the order, the directorate of medical and health department, Jaipur, will remain the headquarters of Dr Birla during the Awating Posting Order period.

“The decision is politically motivated, but nobody can force us to bend our knees,” said Om Birla when asked about his reaction to the order.
