NEW DELHI: A student from the JNU has allegedly committed suicide inside a basement of a library at his faculty inside the campus. The MA 2nd year student, Rishi Joshua Thomas, had mailed his suicide note to a professor and hung himself with a cable. His classmates told the cops that he was missing from the hostel for the past two days.
Joshua was allegedly suffering from depression over a prolonged treatment. His family members have been informed about the incident and the body would be handed over to them after an autopsy.

Police say that they had received a PCR call about the incident around noon. Rishi, who was pursuing his MA from the School of Language study, went missing from the hostel two days back.
On Friday, the professor received a mail from him mentioning about his depression after which an alarm was raised and a search was conducted to look for him. Guards found him hanging from the ceiling fan around noon.
