Hyderabad: Student dies in freak incident

HYDERABAD: A student residing at BC Welfare Hostel at Chaleda village in Siddipet district of Telangana died in a freak incident after a stone which flew in the air following rock blasting to lay a canal for the Mallannasagar fell on his head on Friday evening.
Siddipet police said that on hearing about the blast sound, the student - suresh, 19, who is pursuing degree 1st year - came out of his hostel building and stood at the first floor. To his ill-fate, one broken piece of the rock which flew in the air directly fell on Suresh’s head and he died. Another student who was standing close to Suresh’s friend also suffered minor injury on his hand.
The incident took place at around 4pm and Suresh died on the spot. It was for the construction of canal for the Mallannasagar irrigation project that controlled rock blasting is being taken up. As of now no case was registered by anyone and police were waiting for a complaint.
