Ujjain: A book authored by senior scribe Dr Devendra Joshi Rashtramata Kasturba will be released on Sunday. In the book he has touched upon unrevealed facts of the life of Mahatma Gandhi. According to the author it was Kasturba who shaped the life of Mahatma Gandhi. He wrote that Kastoorba sold her ornaments and managed funds to allow Mahatma to continue studies abroad. The writer said that he had travelled 10000 km to compile the unrevealed facts about Mahatma Gandhi’s life.
He said, “When Gandhiji did not invite Kasturba to join Satyagrah Andolan she got annoyed at Gandhi and asked him as to how he underestimated her. The book has 25 chapters depicting the personality of Kasturba in her various roles including that of being a wife, mother, freedom fighter, prisoner, companion, tolerant lady and obedient wife. The book also talks about relationship shared by Subhash Chandra Bose and Mahatma Gandhi. The book is being released to mark 150 th birth anniversary of Kasturba to document her contribution in shaping Mahatma’s life and her dedication to the nation.
