HYDERABAD: A 16-year-old girl, who was befriended by an unknown man over phone, was allegedly gang-raped by the phone caller and his two friends in
Jagadevpur on Wednesday night. On Friday, the local
Siddipet district police registered a case.
Jagadevpur police said the victim, who discontinued her school, few months ago got a telephone call from an unknown male person. The victim hanged up the phone by saying it's a wrong number. In the same manner, the accused made telephone calls a couple of more times, on different occasions and he entered into conversation under some pretext and struck cord with her, before they became friends which in turn blossomed into love.
On Wednesday, the victim went out to meet him, where he and his two friends allegedly raped her. The victim approached Jagdevpur police, who registered a case under section 376 (rape) of the IPC and Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act (POCSO). The victim was sent to medical examination by police.
"The victim shared the details of the accused along with their names. The accused also belongs to Siddipet district and we are in the process of nabbing them," district police said.
