Bajaj Auto Q4 profit grows 21% to ₹1,306 crore

Bajaj Auto on Friday reported a 20.90 per cent rise in net profit to ₹1,305.59 for the fourth quarter ended March 31, from ₹1,079.87 crore in the corresponding quarter of last year.

Revenue from operations jumped 8.94 per cent to ₹7,395.19 crore, as against ₹6,788.42 crore. On a consolidated basis, the company posted a 20 per cent rise in profit at ₹1,408.49 crore from ₹1,175.47 crore.

Bajaj Auto said in a statement that in the domestic motorcycle segment, the company recorded a growth of 29 per cent over FY18, as against an industry growth of under 8 per cent. Overall share in the domestic motorcycle market increased to 18.7 per cent from 15.7 per cent in FY18, it added.

In the commercial vehicles segment, the company said that it recorded its highest ever volume of 3,99,453 units in the domestic market – a growth of 8 per cent over FY18 and that it “continues to maintain dominance with overall market share of 56.9 per cent.”

In its international business, the company said that its volumes have crossed crossed two million units. The company recorded exports of over 20,78,000 units, growth of 25 per cent over FY18.
