German carmaker Audi has updated its A4 line-up, giving the entire series updated aesthetics, as well as a new set of powertrains. While the updated models have already been put up for sale in European markets, there has been no confirmation of the new A4 line-up making it to Indian markets soon.
Audi has enhanced the front of the A4 line-up to make it look sportier. The A4 now features redesigned LED headlights, a more prominent single-frame grille and redesigned taillights. The company also gave the A4 updated exhaust outlets, vertical corner vents and rear reflectors.
The interior did not receive any significant changes except the Multimedia Interface. The MMI, as it is called, includes a 10.1-inch TFT touchscreen display. It can be used for improved navigation, as compared to the previous generation’s infotainment display. The system also supports phone app connectivity, which gives the driver access to live traffic updates, among other features. Audi has also offered the Audi Virtual Cockpit Plus as an option.
The updated line-up was launched in the European markets with a host of turbocharged engines. The six engines, three of which include a mild-hybrid system, range between 150PS to 347PS of maximum power. The mild-hybrid system consists of a 12-volt battery which reduces the fuel consumption of the car by 0.3 litres per 100 kilometres, as per the company’s claim.
The base price of the A4 line-up has been set at 35,900 Euros (Rs. 28.24 lakh).
