Andhra doctor drowns at Canacona

POINGUINIM: A doctor drowned at Colomb-Patnem beach on Tuesday, Canacona PI Sudesh Narvekar said. Vatukuri Ramkrishna, 25, a resident of Ruby Residency, was from Andhra Pradesh and an employee of the 108 ambulance service.
Police said that Ramkrishna and three others had gone to the beach. She was clicking photos when suddenly, a strong current dragged her into the water. Since she couldn’t be seen for a while, a lifeguard and some locals tried to rescue her. Another person from the group was saved.

Ramkrishna was then pulled out of the water and immediately shifted to Canacona community health centre, where she was declared dead.
Canacona police registered the case of unnatural death under Section 174 of the Criminal Procedure Code.
