Sometimes learning the things people didn't know can be astonishing.

There are entire accounts devoted to 'I was today years old' discoveries, like that moment people's heads explode upon learning that McDonald's coffee cup lids can also be coasters, or that Mike Myers plays both Austin Powers and Dr. Evil. It's OK -- we all didn't know one thing at one point or another. Apparently, a lot of people are just realizing the Game of Thrones' actor who plays Grey Worm, Jacob Anderson, had been a bona fide R&B singer before he became best known for being one of the Unsullied.

Game of Thrones Season 8 Complete Coverage

It's true. Perhaps it's because he goes by the name Raleigh Ritchie when making music, but Anderson -- a U.K. native who specializes in hip hop, R&B, and soul -- has released two EPs and a full album titled You're a Man Now, Boy to fairly solid reviews, the latter reaching a not-bad position of 32 on the U.K. charts. He was nominated for a MOBO Award (Music of Black Origin, which would be something like a Soul Train Award in the U.S.) in 2014, and, in 2017, appeared on the debut from Stormzy, one of the U.K.'s hottest emcees. A few of his tracks are pretty legit turn up tunes! None of them are named "Hey Missandei" though. Yet.

Everything to Know About the Game of Thrones Prequel

In all fairness, we don't know for sure that people are just figuring this out, but judging by the huge spike in views to his YouTube catalogue lately, it's highly likely some Game of Thrones fans are just discovering that Grey Worm is not only a fearless fighter and dutiful lover but also a creator of bops and bangers. According to YouTube data, Raleigh Ritchie's average daily views during the season increased more 1,100 percent when compared to their 2019 daily average prior to the start of the season. That's a lot, especially without one Thrones-themed track. (May we suggest, "You Wrong for That Daenerys?") It's entirely possible, of course, that fans are just flocking to his videos to share their love in every way possible before it's all over, which, judging by the comments, seems to be a good percentage of the passersby.

Need HBO? Add it through Hulu or through Amazon.

Still, a not-insignificant portion of visitors seem truly enlightened to learn Grey Worm is basically the Donald Glover of the U.K. Or is he the younger Idris Elba? In any event, Grey Worm is Jacob Anderson is Raleigh Ritchie, who makes music and is experiencing a pre-finale revival on YouTube. If you were today years old when you learned this, it's OK: just comment like you already knew.

Game of Thrones' series finale airs Sunday, May 19 at 9/8c on HBO.
