Makkal Needhi Maiam's campaign resumed at Thiruparangundram after a two-day impasse, on Wednesday. A right-wing group marched towards the location with a resonating 'Bharat Mata Ki Jai' slogan. A slipper was hurled at Kamal Haasan but landed short.

The Police then arrested 11 regarding this. They were identified as Velmurugan , the regional head of BJP and to Hanuman Sena belonged Solaimani, Vetrivel, Senthilkumar, Arumugam, Velu, Rajeshwar, Rameshkumar, Krishnan, Ramalingam, Prabhakaran. The arrested sloganeers demanded Kamal to be booked under sedition.
