Apollo gave best possible care to former CM: Prathap Reddy

Apollo Hospitals founder Prathap C Reddy said he was satisfied that the Supreme Court had agreed with their request for a medical expert to evaluate the treatment provided to former Chief Minister Jayalalithaa.

To a query from reporters on whether it was not too late to ask for a medical board when the Arumughasamy Commission had almost completed its inquiry, he said, “As far as our beloved late Chief Minister is concerned, Apollo has given the best possible care. I have personally been with her for over four weeks.”

At a time there were two doctors in front of her. Because of her lung problem she developed heart irregularity and they gave the best treatment to her, he said.

The specialists certified the cause of death. Unfortunately the Commission was not satisfied. In translation from Tamil to English, it was lost. “Our request was to give it a fair person, a person who knows this level of care. Let them take the medical evaluation part. The medical evaluation should be done by a medical expert. And Supreme Court has said yes,” Dr. Reddy said.
