CHENNAI: Earlier,
cancer was more of a rarity. But now, there is a growing incidence of cancer, with almost everyone having a family member or friend who is battling the disease.
For many, the battle ahead is confusing, to say the least. That’s why Spirit of the Earth, an initiative set up in 2017 to promote and encourage sustainable lifestyle practices, is organising an informative talk -- ‘Conquer Cancer’ -- here on May 24.
The informative talk, which is free for all, is being conducted to help reduce cancer rates and promote survival.
Dr Nandita Shah, founder of SHARAN, whose mission is to spread awareness about
holistic health and an ecologically sustainable compassionate lifestyle, will address the audience.
The talk will help people understand what cancer is, why it is so common these days, what you can do to prevent it, what chemotherapy and radiotherapy actually are, how they help in treating cancer and their pros and cons, and what you can do to heal effectively whether you are undergoing conventional
treatment or not.
Light refreshments made of whole heritage rice varieties will be served after the talk.
The event will be held at Spirit of the Earth, No 4 Desika Road, Mylapore from 4pm to 5.30pm on May 24.
