Union Law Minister and BJP nominee from Patna Sahib Lok Sabha constituency, Ravi Shankar Prasad lashed out at West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee and compared her to a dictator.

Ravi Shankar Prasad said the fear of losing Lok Sabha elections has made Mamata Banerjee desperate because of which she was refusing to recognise Narendra Modi as the prime minister of the country.

While campaigning in his constituency on Thursday, Ravi Shankar Prasad spoke exclusively to India Today TV and said that the Mamata Banerjee was demolishing the Constitution through her acts.

"BJP national president Amit Shah was attacked during the roadshow, our leaders are not allowed to do public meetings in the state. The situation in the state is unfortunate and Mamata is acting like a dictator. She is doing all this because she is desperate due to the fear of losing the elections", said Ravi Shankar Prasad.

West Bengal chief minister Mamata Banerjee during her press conference on Wednesday night said that PM Modi should be "thrown out of the country". Ravi Shankar Prasad said comments made by her highlighted that she did not have any respect for democracy and Constitution.

"Mamata has crossed all the limits of language that can be used for the prime minister. The people of West Bengal will teach her a lesson on May 23 when the results are out", said Ravi Shankar Prasad.

BJP's key alliance partner JDU also reacted to the ongoing face-off between the BJP and the TMC and demanded the dismissal of the Mamata Banerjee government from West Bengal.

"JDU demands that President Ram Nath Kovind should take cognizance of the crisis in the state and sack the Mamata Banerjee government", said Ajay Alok, JDU spokesperson.
