The political climate in the country is heating up with only a week left for May 23 -- the day of result of the ongoing Lok Sabha polls.
To this end, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will on Thursday address an election rally in West Bengal, a day after a war of words broke out between the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the Trinamool Congress (TMC) over the desecration of the bust of 19th-century reformer Ishwarchandra Vidyasagar.
PM Modi will also hold a rally in politically crucial Uttar Pradesh. Varanasi, where he is contesting from, goes to polls on May 19 -- last and final phase of the election.
BJP chief Amit Shah is scheduled to hold a roadshow in Gorakhpur. He, along with Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and party candidate from Gorakhpur Lok Sabha seat Ravi Kisan, will address the gathering.
Also, Congress president Rahul Gandhi will hold a mega road show in Patna Sahib constituency in favour of party candidate Shatrughan Sinha.
