The Lok Sabha elections in the state have reached its last phase. So far, polling has been held in 21 seats and in eight seats polling will be held for the fourth phase on May 19. Results will be declared on May 23. Political parties have put in all their strength to win the remaining seats.
At present, BJP occupies 26 seats and to maintain it is a big challenge for the party. After forming government in the state, Congress is now claiming to win more than 22 seats in the Lok Sabha elections.
Chief Minister Kamal Nath and Congress workers are moving along with this goal. Before the election results are out, PCC president and Chief Minister Kamal Nath has convened a separate meeting of the current Lok Sabha candidates and ministers, MLAs to assess the current situation. It is believed that reason of bumper voting will be deciphered while essential tips will be given during the the meeting.
During the meeting being considered significant, Chief Minister Kamal Nath will take feedback from the candidates of their parliamentary constituencies after the Lok Sabha election is over. Two important meetings will be conducted on 21 May in the auditorium of State Congress headquarters.
The first meeting will start at 11 am in which candidates will be included. The second meeting will be held at 1 pm for all MLAs.
In the meeting called by Nath, information will be sought regarding the activities performed by the Ministers and MLAs in their areas in accordance with the role fixed for them.
As per information received, certain Lok Sabha candidates of Congress have complained about non-cooperation of ministers and MLAs in their areas. Besides, they have also questioned the role played by them during elections. In such a situation, this matter is very likely to be considered during the expansion of the Cabinet immediately after the Lok Sabha election.
