ROHTAK: The
Haryana Board of School Education announced the results of the Class XII examination on Wednesday. The overall pass percentage is 74.48%, which is the highest percentage in the last four years of the state board results, a spokesperson said.
Once again, the girls have outshone the boys. While 82.48% girls passed the examination, the boys’ pass percentage stood at 68.01%.
Deepak, a student of the government senior secondary school in Bawani Khera town of Bhiwani district, is the overall topper in the examination by scoring 497 marks out of 500.
A total of 1,91,527 students had appeared for the exam of which 1,42,640 students passed. The pass percentage was 63.84% in 2018, 64.5% in 2017, 62.4% in 2016, and 53.87% in 2015.
In terms of rural versus urban students, rural students fared better by securing 75.74% while urban got 71.83%. Government schools (76.34%) fared better than private schools (72.61%).
Among the districts, Rewari topped the state with pass percentage of 80.88% while Palwal district was at the bottom with 59.57%. The pass percentage of Mahendergarh district, home district of education minister Ram Bilas Sharma was 78.25%.
