Nagpur: A 36-year-old man was arrested on Thursday for allegedly sexually exploiting his 13-year-old daughter, whom he would also manhandle and threaten to make her toe his line. He had been exploiting the survivor for last six months.
Police said the survivor, a student of standard VIII, had earlier alerted her teacher about the exploitation, but the family had decided against taking the matter to the police fearing social stigma. Her father worked at a private sweetmeat factory while her mother too worked at a company. She had a 10-year-old brother too.
It’s learnt that the man would start making undue advances towards the daughter when they were alone at home. She had been exploited a day ago too. When she refused to give in on Thursday, the man had started thrashing her. A relative alerted the survivor’s mother about the torture.
The relative later took the survivor to her mother’s workplace, from where they reached Pachpaoli police station. The cops arrested the survivor before he could try to sneak away.
