ROHTAK: Deepak Chauhan of Pur village in Bawani Khera tehsil of Bhiwani district has topped Haryana Board of School Education (HBSE) Class XII exam with 99.4%.
Son of a mason, Deepak thanked his parents to let him pursue studies despite financial constraints. “Even though I had scored 97.6% in Class X, I had to leave private school due to financial restraints. Then I took admission in a government school at Bawani Khera,” he said.
He added he had five sisters, who are also pursuing their studies, and his father was the only bread winner for the family. “I did not have mathematics, chemistry and physics teachers for most part of the year in Class XII, but I focused on self-study and took a little help from teachers outside the school,” he said.

Deepak said he wanted to crack the IIT to become an engineer and make his family proud.
