Decision on NPF's demands will be taken after LS Polls, says Manipur CM

N Singh on Thursday said the demands of BJP's ally (NPF) will be taken up senior party leaders after the Lok Sabha elections conclude.

Speaking to ANI, Singh said, "There was an understanding between and BJP during the formation of government in the state. But due to some unavoidable circumstances, the demands of leaders are pending. These will be taken up by senior party leaders in the state after the Lok Sabha elections are over."

On being asked about the possibility of a reshuffle in the government, Singh said, "Right now I cannot say anything about the government. We are in election mood now. I am here in for election campaign and I am positive that BJP is coming back in the centre. Modiji is coming back again."

In the polls conducted last year for the 60-member Manipur state assembly, the had emerged as the single-largest party with 27 seats, followed by BJP's former ally, the Nationalist Democratic Progressive Party, which won 17 seats. The saffron party was at the third spot with 12 seats, People's Party (NPP) won two and (United) and an independent bagged one seat each.

Seven-phase elections in the country, which began on April 11, will conclude on May 19. Counting of votes will take place on May 23.
