CII and Young Indians step up relief efforts after Cyclone Fani

BHUBANESWAR: Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) and Young Indians (YI) have extended helping hand to cyclone Fani affected people of Odisha.
A team under the chairmanship of Pradipta Mohanty, vice chairman of CII Odisha state council, and Kamal Agarwal of YI Bhubaneswar Chapter met Puri collector and top officials of the Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation to assess the situation and initiate most urgent relief operations in the affected areas.
CII will help to provide immediate relief and long term rehabilitation considering the magnitude of damage caused in different areas. They have already started relief process in Brahmagiri area in Puri.
Agarwal said their volunteers, equipped with JCB machines and hacksaws, have been helping in clearing the roads in Bhubaneswar. “Godown and storage spaces have been created in Kolkata and Bhubaneswar and tie-ups done with the logistics companies to transport the relief articles,” he added.

Mohanty said CII and YI members have come all out to contribute in terms of potable drinking water, solar lanterns, rice, pulses, vegetables, ready-to-eat food articles and started distribution with the help of officials in Puri and slum areas of Bhubaneswar.
Similarly, volunteers of local Fun and Fitness Club (FFC) cut the trees and removed the debris to clean the N-3 park in IRC village damaged in the cyclone Fani. The club members have decided to plant trees in the park and take care of them to restore the lost greenery of the one the oldest parks of the area, said president of the FFC Kedar Patnaik.
