Admission to Class XI in govt schools to begin from May 20

Chandigarh: The UT education department has released notice for centralized admission to Class XI in UT government schools. The same is available on their official website as well.
As reported by TOI last week, the prospectus will be available online from May 20. The details of second round of counselling have also been shared. It will begin on July 15.
The registration forms will also be available from May 20 and the first round of counselling will begin the same day which will end on July 1 with commencement of classes.
The entire process will be online like last year. Forms can be submitted online till June 7 and hard copy can be submitted at six designated schools till June 8.
As reported earlier, the registration for admissions will be done online on the website of the UT education department. To facilitate students, who are unable to fill registration forms online, they can get help at 20 helpdesks which will be setup at 20 different schools by the UT education department and the National Institute of Electronics and Information Technology (NIELIT).
Students can approach the NIELIT centre in Sector 30, Chandigarh, for help from 9am to 1pm.
There are around 12,800 seats in all the four streams - science, commerce, humanities and vocational. To register online, students need to fill an online form on the website of the education department. The department will accept registration fee only through NetBanking, credit card and debit card for 40 senior secondary government schools in Chandigarh.

The registration forms will be accepted only after the payment of Rs 130. There is only one registration form for all streams. A candidate is required to fill only one registration form for any government school. Candidates can fill the option of 20 government schools and streams of their choice in order of preference in the form.
After filling the basic details, a unique ID and password will be generated, which the candidate will have to save for future reference.
