BEIJING -- China's Geely Auto has opened a research and development center in Germany to develop electric vehicles and next-generation mobility technology.
The center in Raunheim, near Ruesselsheim, plans to hire 300 engineers, Geely said in a statement.
According to hiring posts on its website, Geely is seeking employees with expertise from lighting systems to energy control.
Geely did not disclose the size of its investment in the center.
Geely Auto has research units in China's Hangzhou; Gothenburg in Sweden; and Coventry, England.
Geely Auto's parent, Zhejiang Geely Holding Group, has Volvo Cars, Lotus, Lynk & CO and the London Electric Vehicle Company among its brands.
Zhejiang Geely has said it wants to build Lynk & CO vehicles in Volvo's factory in Belgium in a push to have more global presence.
