Smartphone launch season is in full swing as we already witnessed a number of launches within a previous couple of days. But there’s more. Adding to the already long list today is OPPO with its K series. The company has announced that the OPPO K3 will be official on May 23 in China via a teaser on Weibo. Now, the OPPO K3 is a mid-range handset and it’s specifications were revealed last week in a massive leak. OPPO is also introducing a new limited Gundam Edition smartphone with a central punch-hole design in the Reno series soon.
As for the OPPO K3, it will spearhead the K series as OPPO reshuffles its mid-range product line. And from what has leaked, it seems to be a big step-up over the OPPO K1. The teaser poster at least confirms one thing, that the processor will be a Snapdragon 710 SoC as you’ll see a hint in the top-left corner of the poster. As for other specifications, the OPPO K3 features a 6.5-inch display with 1080 x 2340 pixels resolution, according to a leaked listing on China Telecom.
As for imaging capabilities, the OPPO K3 is expected to have a 16MP primary shooter for the front and rear. The exact battery capacity is not known but the handset is likely to boast of VOOC 3.0 along with a pop-up camera design. OPPO is rumoured to be pricing the K3 very aggressively, tipped to fall between the 1,000 Yuan to 2,000 Yuan bracket. The handset is rumoured to have a 6GB RAM variant and an 8GB version, which will have 128GB of built-in storage if previous leaks are anything to go by. The OPPO K3 will be available in three gradient colours: Nebula Purple, Dark Blue, and Morning White.
