BASEBALL: Durfee edges Case as Brett Fonseca knocks in 3 runs; Jack Sefrino pitches, bats Stang past Seekonk

Cameron Macedo threw a complete-game six-hitter as Durfee (10-2) defeated Case 3-1 in baseball on Thursday at UMass Dartmouth to qualify for the Division 1 South tournament.

Down 3-0 after six innings, Case (5-10) scored in the top of the seventh and had the bases loaded before Macedo got the final out on an infield pop-out.

Durfee's Brett Fonseca was 2-for-3 with three runs batted in against Case's Logan Sherratt, who threw a complete-game five-hitter and allowed one earned run.

Bishop Stang 3, Seekonk 1: At Seekonk, Jack Sefrino (5-0)  threw a complete-game two-hitter and went 1-for-3 with two RBIs and run scored.

Luke Bala (3-for-3, double, RBI, run) continued his torrid hitting for Stang (9-4).
