‘Illegal businesses could be reason for his death’

Vadodara: The transporter who was found murdered in his car on Wednesday noon could have been killed because of his alleged illegal businesses.
Police have formed different teams to find the person who strangled Dalchand Khatik. Cops said that they are tracing the killer on the basis of Khatik’s call detail records. Besides a team of Harni police station, one team of detection of crime branch is also working on the investigation.
According to police, Khatik showed his transport business on paper and in reality he was involved in illicit liquor trade. “We are also looking into the people who had traded with him in the liquor business because some fallout in that business could have led to his murder,” said a police official. Cops are also not ruling out involvement of any of his family members. “We have suspect involvement of some persons from his family. But their involvement will be revealed once we have some evidence,” the police official added.
During investigation, police also learnt that several years back Khatik was also involved in illegal sale of kerosene.
