Nayanthara’s Kolayuthir Kaalam, which has been in the making for a couple of years now, is expected to hit the screens on May 31. Surprisingly, the film’s Hindi remake Khamoshi that has Tamannaah reprising Nayanthara’s role is also releasing on May 31. Both versions have been helmed by Chakri Toleti.

Chennai: The film is loosely based on American slasher film Hush in which the protagonist is a deaf-mute woman who faces life threat in an isolated bungalow. Though the Hindi version gets a release date, sources say that the Tamil version will not be releasing on May 31 as Suriya’s NGK too will hit the screens on May 31. The movie had gone on floors in 2016 and is gearing up for release this year. The recently-held trailer launch function made news when Radha Ravi passed misogynistic remarks against Nayanthara who was not present at the event.
