Speeding car kills triple seat riders on a bike in Mumbai

MUMBAI: In a hit-and-run case, three men riding triple seat on a bike were knocked down by a car on the Mumbai-Ahmedabad national highway at Vasai on Wednesday. The victims, who had not worn helmets, died on the spot.
The bike on which they were travelling has been seized.
The deceased have been identified as Sunil Rana (28), Deepak Kakda (25) and Abdul Ansari (25)—all residents of Juchandra in Naigaon.
Valiv police said the victims could be labourers employed in one of the industrial units in the Vasai-Virar region.
A speeding car is believed to have ran them over and sped away.
The bodies lay on the road for a while until an ambulance arrived and took them away for autopsy.

Police will look for the closed circuit television (CCTV) footage of the area to help track the vehicle.
Valiv police have registered a case of causing death due to negligence against the unknown driver.
