Gurgaon: Anjan Deveshwar, an
independent candidate from Gurgaon, has accused
BJP polling agents of
rigging the
elections on May 12.
Deveshwar (41) has claimed that on the polling day, he observed electoral fraud at booth number 15 at government primary school in Pawala. “I overheard political agents, talking to each other, that they had already voted on behalf of the voters who failed to turn up at the polling booth,” Deveshwar said.
Although Deveshwar hasn’t filed any formal complaint, he took to Twitter to register his concern. In a series of tweets, he complained of alleged electoral fraud and demanded investigation from the election commission and district administration.
Deveshwar asserted that the election commission should either investigate the issue and call for another round of polling or reimburse his election expenditure. While he claimed that chief electoral office of Haryana has taken cognizance of his tweet and directed officials to take action, deputy commissioner Amit Khatri said he hasn’t received any formal orders regarding this.
