Nainital: A total of 1,347 people have availed medical benefits under the Atal Ayushman Yojana, revealed an RTI reply provided by the state health department. The data has been recorded till January 2019.

The scheme, which was launched by the state government in December last year, provides cover to 1,350 medical conditions to the poor and needy.

The RTI query was filed by a Haldwani based activist Hemant Gaunia.

With total 69 private and government hospitals roped in under the scheme, a total of Rs 34.74 lakh has been paid as claims made by patients under the scheme.
